I am sure that you are excited about the pending economic stimulus package. Although I share in your excitement, I am deeply concerned about recent information of crooks using the growth package to trick hardworking Hoosiers into revealing financial and personal information. |
| The IRS has informed me that people are already receiving phone calls from crooks that claim to require your bank account information to ensure you get a rebate. Emails have also surfaced with viruses and spyware that could open you up to identity theft. I am doing everything I can to ensure that the package has mechanisms to thwart identity theft. You should also do all you can to keep your identity safe. The FTC website has an abundance of information on ways to protect yourself and your family from these crooks. |
