Daily Maintenance

  • Sanitize bottom & top acrylic after each session using a fresh towel each time.
  • Wipe any lotion from bed (including timer pad & bench/canopy profiles), wall, floor
  • Close canopy at the end of the day & dust with a dry cloth
  • Vacuum around the base of bed & it’s air vents at the end of each day
  • Any time you see foreign items (hair, lint, etc.) under the acrylics, immediately remove acrylic & clean /remove debris.

Monthly Maintenance

  • Check all fans in top & bottom of bed as well as all vent areas
  • Check all lamps; be sure they are all in working order, including facials
  • Wipe exterior surfaces of fan shrouds with cloth & disinfectant
  • Check the main structure for cracks or breaks
  • Check hoses and connections in rear of bed & clean hoses with cloth & disinfectant
  • Check acrylics for cracks or wear
  • Remove top & bottom acrylics to clean/polish both sides of each.
  • Remove & clean all cage covers on stand up tanning units
  • Remove all lamps & inspect lamp holders, looking for deformed or melted sides on lamp holders &/or worn out sockets
  • Inspect facial lamps for any burned ends
  • Wipe each lamp with a clean cloth & denatured alcohol. Dusty or dirty lamps can cause a bed to lose 20% of UV transmission
  • Vacuum & clean all fans, reflectors, ballasts, lamp holders, starters, and starter holders
  • Clean baseboard behind bed along the wall (it gathers dust & dirt)
  • Vacuum behind the bed
  • Reflector panels should be cleaned with a damp cloth (do not use Windex or similar products on acrylics or lamps). Then reinstall top lamps, start the bed & check lamps. Repeat the same procedure for the bench. Replace or close top & bottom acrylics
  • Clean the outside surface of the bed with a mild soap solution such as Australian Gold™ Citrus Cleaner. (Perform a test patch in a hidden section of the bed to ensure the solution is compatible with the paint and will not stain or fade the color)
  • Re-start the bed & verify that all lamps light up & all fans run properly

Annual Maintenance

  • During a monthly cleaning, preferably when the traffic is slowest, add the following steps to your monthly maintenance schedule:
  • Remove front base panel, canopy hood, & rear equipment panel
  • Using a vacuum hose & bottle brush, clean the dust from all internal fan cages & fans (Use caution NOT to disturb wiring)
  • Clean & vacuum the fans in the base of the unit. Slide out ballast trays to clean & open the top to vacuum inside
  • Clean & vacuum all areas that are otherwise impossible to get to when the unit is assembled.
  • Reinstall ballast tray, base panel, canopy hood panel, & rear equipment panel
  • At this point, before installing lamps or cleaning acrylics, turn the unit on. This allows any dust that was loosened from the blower motors to escape.
  • Reinstall the lamps & cleaned acrylics as in the last 3 steps under monthly checklist. Don’t forget to check the lamps & acrylics for hairline cracks &/or yellowing.

*Important Lamp Note: Do not spot re-lamp a bed. Entire canopy or bench must be re-lamped at the same time for consistency
